There is plenty of fun in this quartet for players as well as audiences. The second violin, viola and cello drive the rhythm: the cello on the beat and viola and second violin off beat. The first violin imitates the skylark with great virtuosity. Violin two and viola imitate the woodpecker using the frog on the bridge and there is an indeterminate period for the improvisation of bird calls. It is reminiscent of Vivaldi’s Spring and Paul Nero’s The Hot Canary, but not very much like Vaughan-Williams’ Lark Ascending! Moraru’s arrangement would suit quartets with an extremely capable first violinist and strong skills in the other parts. Using AMEB grade levels, I would suggest diploma level first violin, 7th grade second violin, and 6th grade viola and cello parts. The Skylark would be an explosive finale to a concert program. This is an overflowing arrangement for string quartet. The piece preserves the beauty of the original work, an icon of Romanian traditional music, but at the same time differs in essence, due to the new musical themes that were introduced in the sound material of this work. A sample of the Romanian traditional music which exploit all four instruments on equal terms through which they can show their virtuosity. A pleasure for the members of the string quartets who like to show their technical skills, with which, surely, they will delight the audience. This score is a smart choice for the string quartets that want to achieve the acclaim from the audience. It is a perfect encore to be performed after a successful concert.

Dieses ist ein überströmendes Arrangement für das Streichquartett. Das Stück bewahrt die Schönheit des Originalwerks, eine Ikone der traditionellen rumänischen Musik, aber gleichzeitig unterscheidet es sich im Wesentlichen aufgrund der neuen musikalischen Szenen, die in das Klangmaterial dieses Werks eingeführt wurden. L'œuvre préserve la beauté de l'œuvre originale, un emblème de la musique traditionnelle roumaine, mais en même temps diffère dans son essence, en raison des nouveaux thèmes musicaux qui ont été introduits dans le matériel sonore de cette œuvre. Un échantillon de musique traditionnelle roumaine qui exploite les quatre instruments dans des conditions égales à travers lesquelles les instrumentistes peuvent montrer leur virtuosité. Un plaisir pour les membres des quatuors à cordes qui aiment montrer leurs compétences techniques qui raviront sûrement le public. Acesta este un aranjament debordant pentru cvartet de coarde. Piesa păstrează frumusețea operei originale, o emblemă a muzicii tradiționale românești, dar în același timp diferă prin esență, datorită noilor teme muzicale care au fost introduse în materialul sonor al acestei lucrări. Un eșantion de muzică tradițională românească care exploatează toate cele patru instrumente în condiții egale prin care instrumentiștii își pot arăta virtuozitatea. O plăcere pentru membrii cvartetelor de coarde cărora le place să-și arate abilitățile tehnice prin care sigur vor încânta audiența. Această partitură este o  alegere inteligentă pentru cvartetele de coarde care își doresc să aibă succes la public. Este un bis  perfect pentru finalul unui concert reușit.
